The Light Laundry Hamper

10/6/2020

Monday morning, I picked up the laundry hamper to take it to the laundry room and was struck by how light it was. Then I flashed back to a morning where it was so heavy when I picked it up that I strained a muscle in my back. That was back (not so long ago) when all three children were still living at home and the basket filled up really quickly. Now with even Tom gone, I barely make a dent in filling the basket.

I don't remember exactly when it stopped being so heavy. That's how life is-you don't realize the last time is the last time. If you knew, you'd make it really special and make a point to remember it. Every moment can't be special, but you can enjoy and savor every moment that you have with your loved ones. Enjoy that heavy laundry basket, it means you still have children at home. Enjoy that kiss with your spouse-you never know when you'll have your last kiss. Life is short and precious. Live it with love and no regrets.

My passion is to share the importance of playing, and not just as a child, but as an adult also. It is so important to take the time to play and be active. Our children are losing that.
