In Gretchen Rubin’s Happier podcast, she suggests choosing a word of the year for each year. This year, I created my “Three Be’s”: Be Loving, Be Thankful, Be Happy” with a bonus “Be Tracy”. For 2021, I am truly choosing a word: Rebuilding.
I have a lot in my life to rebuild. Well, actually, I guess my whole life is a rebuilding project. Losing Tom has (of course) rocked me to the very core. Now I have to learn to rebuild my life without him and figure out who I am without him beside me.
Then I have to work on rebuilding my business. Between the pandemic and Tom’s illness, it took a big hit this year. I have made some adjustments and expect I will continue to make more. One of those changes has been switching to doing a lot of webinar training. This seems to be the wave of the future (or at least the wave of the now) and if I am going to do it, I want to get really good at it. That means I need to work on upping my skills and learn new things in order to make my training engaging and interactive. I much prefer doing live training because I get a lot of my energy from the audience, but I also know I have to learn and grow with the times.
This month, I am going to work on my plan for 2021 and determine how I can rebuild my life next year and move forward.
Have you considered choosing a word or phrase for the upcoming new year? If so, what did you choose and why?
