Lark or Night Owl?

Gretchen Rubin talks a lot about larks and night owls. Are you a lark or a night owl? A lark is someone who naturally likes to get up early and get lots of things done and a night owl is a person who functions better in the evenings or late at night. There isn’t a right or wrong answer, I think we all are what we are. But the world is definitely set up more for larks than night owls.
I have always pretty much been a lark. I have found that I accomplish much more if I get up and start my day early. By late afternoon, I am pretty depleted and ready to relax. There have been exceptions to this of course (especially during my teen years), but my mom talks all the time about how I was such an early riser as a child. She would even let me stay up late on weekends to try and get me to sleep later the next morning, but I still woke up at the same early time every single day. Having been a parent who had two early birds, I certainly empathize with her now. Tom was more of a night owl; when we first got married, he could sleep the day away. He used to think it was so weird that I loved getting up early, even when we were on vacation. I just wanted to enjoy the whole day off and not spend half of it sleeping. He learned to accept my lark ways and I (mostly lol) learned to except his night owl ways.
Which one are you? Let me know in the comments!

My passion is to share the importance of playing, and not just as a child, but as an adult also. It is so important to take the time to play and be active. Our children are losing that.
