House Cleaning Confession

I’m going to confess something here that I probably should not, lol. But hey, I’m all about the honesty. House cleaning has never been one of my strong points. I mean, I don’t live in filth or anything, but dusting especially was just a really hated task. I’ve learned that when you do it regularly, it’s much easier to do it lol. Creating a routine has really helped me with keeping things cleaner around here. Of course, getting rid of massive amounts of clutter hasn’t hurt either. I followed FlyLady for years and just never really got the hang of her system. I’m so excited to have created something that is working well for me. My house is by no means perfect, but it’s better (much like me this year lol)

Do you follow a routine for cleaning your house? If so, tell us about it in the comments.

Ann,

I've been de-cluttering pretty much every week day since March. I generally only spend 15 minutes a day on it but it's amazing what you can get done in 15 minutes!

Starting this month, I added a routine to my resolution list where I would focus on cleaning one area of the house each weekday. So for example, Mondays I sweep and mop the kitchen; Tuesdays I clean the bathroom; Wednesdays, I vacuum and dust, Thursdays I work in our bedroom. Fridays I pick an area of the house and work on it that day. For example, one week I wiped off the fronts of the kitchen cabinets and another week I cleaned and organized my desk.

My passion is to share the importance of playing, and not just as a child, but as an adult also. It is so important to take the time to play and be active. Our children are losing that.
