Healthy Treats

​Yesterday, I talked about how I’m getting better at not eating my feelings. It still happens, believe me, but I’m making progress in the right direction. So today I want to talk about healthy treats. Things you can do for yourself to feel better that won’t make you feel worse later. Here are some of my healthy treats:
 
Reading a good book
 
Playing a game on my phone (Best Fiends is my current favorite)
 
Watching an episode of a favorite TV show
 
Here’s the thing though. These can all also turn into things that I use to numb myself as well. There is a big difference between watching one episode of a favorite TV show or spending a few minutes playing my favorite game than just mindlessly binging hours of TV or playing hours of a game on my phone. I guess the key is in being mindful with what I’m doing. I need to come up with some other healthy treats and keep a list handy of things I can do. What are some of your favorite healthy treats?
P.S. A treat is different than a reward. A reward is something that you give yourself because you did something. For example, I reward myself with a Diet Dr. Pepper at the end of the day as long as I’ve drank my water (preferably a Sonic drink but if that’s not possible, I just pour one over a cup of the Sonic ice I keep in my freezer lol). A treat is just something you do for yourself.
